Regional Sales Manager

Hours: This is an office-based role (8:30am-5pm Mon-Fri), however, for the right individual then consideration could be given to hybrid working.

Location: Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely, Cambridgeshire
 

Due to unprecedented growth, we are looking to appoint a new Regional Sales Manager who will be responsible for continuing to capture market share with current and prospective clients around the world.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated and ambitious individual that is willing to work also as part of a team to develop sales.

 

The role will require overseas travel to your own accounts and to support the sales team when required. mainly at exhibitions to develop sales with your customers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

 In conjunction with the with the General Manager and sales team produce the Annual Sales Strategy in line with the start of each financial year.

 For your regions and accounts Produce a 90-day quarterly sales activity plan including travel plans.

 Identify new opportunities for growth through new distributors and OEM customers within your defined regions.

 Review individual (allocated) customers purchases and look for ways to grow sales and gross profit.

 On a monthly basis, report back to the General Manager on progress being made against budget and sales plan, including any remedial action to be taken.

 Carry out any reasonable request as instructed by the General Manager & Directors.

Department Supervisor - Electrode Processing Dept.

 

Hours: 8:30am-5pm Mon-Fri

Location: Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely, Cambridgeshire

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

● Organizing work through the department in line with the delivery schedule, ensuring delivery targets to the customer are achieved. Highlight any issues in a timely manner so corrective and preventive action can be taken. 

● Supervise priority workflow and customer returns, understanding when it is required and organise accordingly.  

● Managing and organizing product and material deliveries to the department, including stock checks. Reporting delivery or quality issues in a timely manner so corrective and preventive action can be taken.  

● Managing and motivating staff, communicating expectations, setting goals and targets for overall performance, productivity, efficiency, quality and conduct. Ensuring that employees understand their duties and delegated tasks. Review and agree corrective and preventive action when required. 

● Manage and monitor staff training, (including support staff on cross training) using the procedures, information sheets and other documentation to ensure all staff are trained consistently to an agreed level. Agree a training plan and ensure the Skills Matrix is up to date. 

● Manage department KPIs, aim for continuous improvement. 

● Agreeing staff holidays and a plan for cover, if required, in advance. 

● Take responsibility for the department and for the production, quality and output. Understanding customer requirements and ensuring a high level of customer service.  

 Problem solving department issues, equipment, materials, staff or services, communicate and agree actions with appropriate support departments.  

● Investigate department improvements on productivity, efficiency, waste reduction and equipment. Support and implement agreed ideas from others. 

● Delegate roles and responsibilities to staff and ensure there is cover during supervisor absence.

Production Operator

 

Hours: 9am - 5pm, moving to a 10am - 6pm shift after training

 

Location: Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely, Cambridgeshire

We are looking for people to work as part of a small team in one of the various production departments in our manufacturing business. You will be working in a spacious, air conditioned factory and full training will be given in all areas. The successful candidates will also be required to have cross departmental training.

Reporting to the Department Supervisor

Manual Machinist / Tool Maker


Location: Lancaster Way Business Park, Ely, Cambridgeshire

In the last 5 years, First Light Lamps has seen unprecedented growth in the business and we are now looking for a highly experienced Manual Machinist / Tool Maker to join our Engineering team

 

As a Manual Machinist / Tool Maker, you will be crafting the parts necessary for our in-house automated machine builds. Also, you will be building machinery, repairing, and making modifications to equipment. You will be required to have at least 10-years of experience in a similar role, or a portfolio of works that clearly demonstrate your abilities. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and ambitious individual that is willing to work as part of a small team. 


Reporting to the Engineering Manager


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience for this role: 

● Fully skilled in Milling and Turning

● Be able to Turn between centres to Micron Tolerances

● Fully proficient in rotary table usage

● Thread turning

● Use of a boring head

● Can work to the best engineering practises and housekeeping

● Machining of aluminium, stainless steel, copper etc

Desirable Knowledge/Skills: 

● Assembly of precision tooling, linear and rotary products

● Surface Grinding

● Tig Welding

● Brazing
