Job Description - Production Operator

 

Hours: 9am - 5pm, moving to a 10am - 6pm shift after training.

Working as part of a small team in one of the various production departments for an expanding manufacturing business

based at Lancaster Way Business Park in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Training will be given in all areas. The successful candidates will also be required to have cross departmental training.

Reporting to the Department Supervisor.

Job Description - Manual Machinist/Fitter

 

First Light Lamps Ltd is looking for an experienced Manual Machinist/Fitter to join our team. As a Manual Machinist/Fitter, you will be crafting the parts necessary for our in-house automated machine builds. You will also be building machinery, repairing, and making modifications to equipment.

 

You will be required to have at least 10-years of experience in a similar role, or a portfolio of works. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and ambitious individual that is willing to work as part of a small team. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

 

Ensuring the highest standards and are delivered and demonstrated

Machining of any parts required, milling, and turning

Organising your time and that of the Junior Machinist

Keeping check of tooling and materials

Building and modifying new or existing machinery

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience for this role: 

 

Fully skilled in milling and turning

Turning between centres to very tight tolerances

Fully proficient in rotary table usage

Working to the best engineering practises and housekeeping

Ability to assemble the frame upwards to a high standard of fit and finish

Assembly of precision tooling, linear and rotary products

Pneumatic builds

 

 

Desirable Knowledge/Skills: 

 

·Surface grinding

Basic annealing and heat treatment

Tig welding

Brazing

Job Description - Maintenance Engineer/Fitter (Electrical Biased) 

First Light Lamps Ltd is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Fitter (Electrical Bias) to join our team. As a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias), you will be multi-skilled and be required to carry out reactive and PPM tasks across the site, working in a team of engineers. 

You will be required to have at least 5-years of experience in a similar role, with relevant qualifications. You will be of an electrical bias with good electrical engineering experience. 
 
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and ambitious individual that is willing to work as part of a small team. 

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

 

Ensuring the highest standards and are delivered and demonstrated

Ensuring the Customer and Team are ‘kept in the loop’ through feedback and regular updates

Keeping the factory running in a safe and timely manner

Installing services and keeping facilities in good working order

Helping with new machine builds

 

Qualifications:

 

GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience for this role:

 

Strong, demonstrable competencies of dealing with breakdowns

Knowledge and experience of working on electrical/mechanical machinery

5 years previous experience within similar environment

Experience of working with asset/work management systems such as LIMBLE

Ability to manage priorities in line with business needs

Ability to turn hand to most activities within a maintenance environment

Mains Voltage and Low Voltage fault finding and fitting experience

 

Desirable Knowledge/Skills: 

 

PLC installation and fault finding

High Voltage 

Experience with PCB and Electronics fault finding

Pneumatics experience, both install and fault finding

High Vacuum

Linear and Rotary Motion
