Everybody knows that the last 18 months have been extremely tough due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The directors of First Light made the decision to keep the company open throughout the various lockdowns as we manufacture flash lamps used in important medical devices. Our employees understood this and worked exceptionally hard throughout the pandemic to make sure that our customers still had access to flash lamps.

 

We have been astounded by the graft and commitment shown by our staff and as a company, we wanted to find a way to say ‘thank you’.

 

The 3rd national lockdown in the UK ended recently so we seized the opportunity to hire a local venue to host a company Summer Bash. We were thrilled that over 50 employees attended the event. We were treated to gourmet burgers from a company called Road Dogs, an ice cream van and a free bar, as well as an afternoon of sun - a rarity in the UK! 

 

It was a great afternoon and the feedback we received from our staff was brilliant. After the events of the last 18 months, it felt extra special to be able to fully engage and laugh with each other in a relaxed setting. We even managed to get a few games of football in! 

 

The directors saw how much of a success the event was and they have decided to make the Summer Bash an annual event, much to the delight of our staff. We are so proud of our team and we are thrilled that the event went so well. We are now looking to the next one in 2022!
