Comet-IPL

Ophir Optronics, have granted First Light Lamps the exclusive right to promote the new Comet IPL energy measurement unit.

Ophir Optronics, the leader in advanced technology for the measurement of laser power, energy, beam profile and wavelength introduces the new Comet-IPL. The Comet-IPL is specifically designed for measuring energy of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) sources simply yet accurately, and its low cost makes it particularly suitable for use by both service personnel and end users.

There are several versions of this device available, offering various sizes of the absorber puck and in some cases a guide to insure the IPL source is positioned exactly and repeatable over the Comet-IPL absorber.

Calibration accuracy is ±8% for most IPL sources, repeatability is ±2% and provision for user calibration is available.

The device can measure total energy in Joules, energy density in J/cm², or the power of a continuous source in Watts. In each case, the result can be displayed either as a measurement number or a GO / NO GO indication. Mode of operation is predetermined and can only be changed by service personnel with access to hidden menus, so the Comet-IPL can be configured for the specific application.
